ISO: Surprise Applesauce Cake (Apple Cheese Cake/ Mock Cheesecake)

The recipe Mock Cheesecake/ Apple Cheesecake- is very close or is a recipe I have been trying to find for years. I knew it as "Surprise Applesauce Cake". What I can remember about it is that it was to be left in the oven after baking, oven off and door ajar. Do not know how long before taking it out. Maybe this is the eason it turned out for Lynn.
