Recipe: Piquant Little Meat Loaves (mini loaves, make ahead)

PIQUANT LITTLE MEAT LOAVES

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
2/3 cup soft bread crumbs
1/3 cup chopped onion
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
FOR THE TOPPING:
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup ketchup
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl; stir until blended. Shape mixture into six (4 x 2 1/2-inch) loaves; place on lightly greased rack of a broiler pan.

TO STORE:
Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.

TO BAKE AND SERVE:
Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes.

Combine brown sugar and remaining ingredients; stir well.

Remove meat loaves from oven; pour brown sugar mixture over meat loaves. Return meat loaves to oven; bake an additional 5 to 7 minutes.

Makes 6 servings
