Oh thank you, thank you Betsy and June! I will definitely try all three recipes and see how they are. I'm hoping I can tweak one to be similar to Ma's tomato sauce. :) Yep, the sauce is THAT good and I miss having it terribly!
I asked my mother about it, but she said that even though Ma tried many times to tell her and even show her how to make it, it never came out right for her. Even the couple of restaurants around here that used to serve it 20 years ago or so don't anymore.
I will report back in the next couple of weeks and let you both know what I was able to work out.
