A Happy Ending

Misc.

This has no relation to cooking or tips but I just have to tell someone. Maybe others of you have happy ending stories.

We have a cabin in the mountains where we spend our summers but we go down to our regular home every two or three weeks to take care of things. Well, on our last trip down we were doing yard work and when we opened our metal storage shed to get out stuff out pops this little kitty. She was so happy to see us, meaowing and rubbing against our legs. She was very thin, hungry and thirsty, and I gave her water and dog food. We had our selves a dilemma as we were going back to the mountains the next day and we have a dog who hates cats. We ended up taking her to the animal shelter with heavy hearts as we knew they were overloaded with unwanted cats. That evening when I was in the yard gathering up trash that had blown in our yard I found a very ragged paper about a lost cat. So I called the number and told the lady that answered that we had found a cat that afternoon but had taken it to the animal shelter. She said it sounded like her cat but it had been gone for a month but said she would check with the shelter the next day. We were very curious to find out if it was and told her to call and leave amessage on our answering machine. Last night I called down to retrieve messages and there was a message from her saying it WAS her kitty. Very thin but none the worse for wear.
We figured the kitty had been shut up in our storage shed for at least a week (must of sneaked in when my husband was down about a week before) That shed must of had temperatures well over 100 degrees (we live in Arizona) What made us decide to go down at the last minute and for me to find that lost notice in our front yard. We figured it was fate. Lucky fate for the kitty.
