Ah, yes, the prep...or, the mise en place, as the French call it

Misc.
I used to volunteer as an ESL teacher, and I remember one of the women in my class (she is Korean) talking about dinner time at her house (a house full of guys). She said she feels so lonely, standing there, chopping and chopping and chopping.

Yes, there is a lot of prep with a stir-fry, I agree! But it makes for a change, and even when I make something where I get the mise en place prepared, I am always amazed at how quickly it comes together versus my usual throw it together m.o.

And using the food processor is nothing to be ashamed of...when I haul that baby out, I am going to make it worth my while...it's always such a pesky thing to wash up. I tried a chopper, but it just didn't suit my (high volume) needs.

I hope you have a great day. We are off to Costco and some other errands, then to pick up DS #1 from a sleepover. Probably be very grumpy from lack of sleep, but luckily, he never needs to be encouraged to go to bed early if he is tired, so he will be back on track tomorrow.

Cheers!

Carolyn!
