the local malaysian (either Chinese or Malay or Indians or Eurasians...) are all fond of this little cookie tarts... i have never gone back to the Taiwanese ones (jam fille din a cylinder tubes) after i tried my first Malaysian kind. i think it's the pineapples (coz they are local and sweet naturally)... and i think it's to do with the ones i had in taiwan were all "factory-made"... i hardly ever knew anyone would make these at home. but here in malaysia and singapore, many housewives make them in the home kitchen for sale during the (CNY, also some Ramadan). to me these are the BEST!
