BG
Misc. pleased to see you again BG. yes, i am content with the result of the LASIK. though the doctor did warn me that with the normal vision now (at young age), i may still need reading spectacles when i get old, just like normal people when age. it's ok, i can live with that coz at least i don't need to have the reading glasses on at all time like what i used to with the nearsighted ones.
as for the pineapple tarts, i think it's best you ask Betsy for my e-mail address as i can then send you some pictures of those. it's complicated for me to describe these in words. if your friends are coming back to singapore, the best thing is to ask them NOT to bring the ones has eggs/even just yolks in them. i recollected the ones i brought back to australia had eggs and were confiscated in the airport. i was going to give them to my neighbours. :((( however, if my memory serves me right, the usa is much more slack on food quarantine. but i can't be sure now that you guys seem to tighten up quite a lot after 911... and if your friends are going to order these homemade, please note that these don't last very long in room temperature especially the muggy summer you have in Chicago.
As far as England's concerned, yes, it's still in the plan. but we are putting it off for a year or 2 because chris wants to finish up his 3-year government service and passes the second part of MRCP (post-graduate training for internal medicine.) He's currently into the second year. anyway, it's a long story and i should reseve it for e-mail as this is, after all, a cooking site.
hope you and yours are all doing well.
