The brown sugar is to be part of the blueberry compote, and the breakfast puff can be garnished with additional brown sugar after baking, if you wish, instead of syrup. I covered the dish while baking, but as with many bread puddings, it's not always necessary unless the top browns too quickly. Enjoy!
