Bird Nests

Misc.
I know what you are talking about but cannot find my recipe- however, here is an alternate one (especially if someone doesn't eat or like coconut.) THey are easy and no bake.

1 Cup chocolate chips
1/2 Cup peanut butter chips( can use all chocolate if you don't like peanut butter)
1 tbls shortening(do not use butter or margarine)
1-1/2 cups (3 oz can) chow mein noodles corsely broken

Line tray with waxed paper- Combine chips with shortening in microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. If necessary add increments of 15 sec - stirring after each till chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Add noodles and mix just to coat. Dre\op by heaping teaspoons full onto wax paper tray. Shape with back of spoon into nest shapes.
Let stand till firm. Store in tightly covered container in refig.
Makes about 1-1/2 doz to 2 doz.
