Debbie D., AL re: appliances

Misc.

I'm starting to think that it's the luck of the draw with these things. Our
previous washer and dryer (Kenmore) were over 20 years old and they were still
going strong. They never needed any repairs but the tubs were starting to show
wear. I think that as time goes by these products seem to be made with cheaper
materials and disposable parts. We actually have a fridge in the basement
(weighs a ton!) that belonged to my Grandmother. It's a Kelvinator and I know
that it is over 40 years old. It's never been repaired and we use it mostly
for drinks and for extra cold space during parties and holiday time etc.

I often give the benefit of the doubt to Consumer Reports. They seem quite
reliable.
