Flank Steak and London Broil?

I just read somewhere recently that flank steak and London broil are the same. Is this true? Does anyone know? I have lots of wonderful recipes using a flank steak, but I don't buy it because the cut is so expensive here. London Broil however, is seems to be on sale periodically. Or is it that they can be interchanged in a recipe with little difference? Help!
