Recipe: Thyme Pizza (serves 2)
Pizza/FocacciaTHYME PIZZA
1 (12-inch) pizza shell, or any pizza dough rolled into a 12-inch circle
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
6 tablespoons marinara sauce, preferably homemade
1/2 cup chopped fresh garlic
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella (about 2 ounces)
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F and position a rack at the top of the oven.
Brush the pizza shell with olive oil, then spread on the marinara sauce. Sprinkle on the garlic, thyme, oregano and cheeses, in that order.
Bake for 12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and browning.
