Glass Surface Stoves

I am redoing my kitchen as well; looking at a flat surfaced stove - does anyone have experience with them? Please share...
Brand - cleaning problems? - speed...is it true that they are slower than a coiled stove? Is it very noticable?
I question the oven efficiency...have ruled out convection as cost prohibitive.
Any comments would be helpful! Thanks
