green tomatoes

There are a ot of recipes for green tomatoe relish, pickles and i even heard of a way to can them in thick slices in water to fry in the winter!!!! Haven't tryed it yet. Put thick sliced green tomatoe slices in wide mouth jars, 1 tea. salt, cover with water, waterbath 15 min. I would think these would get soaky, but have heard it works!! Any canning books have the pickles and relishes. Good luck
