Hi there June!

Misc.
I lucked into the countertop oven I have now, because it is also a breadmaker. Now, I scarcely use the breadmaking capability anymore, but, as I mentioned before, the oven gets regular use!

I think all the countertop ovens take a specially sized set of pans, although when I was at Costco the other day, I noticed one that boasts accommodating a 12" pizza pan. It looked kind flimsy to me, though.

I have been fishing around for a new countertop oven that will suit my needs, because mine is getting on in years. If I get a new breadmaker, it can just go into the cupboard (I think almost every garage sale had one on offer this past summer, I am not going to blow the budget, don't worry!). I have it in mind to get a countertop oven with a rotisserie, and I have seen one from GE that is available only at Walmart that may or may not suit my purposes. It has two racks for baking (like my one now) and is definitely big enough for a batch of muffins. It is well under $100 C.

My preference would be for a convection counter top oven with rotisserie, but these seem to run well into the hundreds of dollars. It seems hard to justify that price, although people do seem to rave about the convection ovens.

I once had a combination convection oven/microwave. The net result was that it was a lousy microwave, and a lousy convection oven. So I am leary of combinations!

I hope I have been helpful!

Merry X-mas, and happy baking, June!

Carolyn!
