houses

Misc.

I've been reading these posts and a lot of good ideas are being made. I have very bad knees and stairs are a real problem for me. The house we are living in right now has a walk out basement where the laundry is, and somedays, I just don't do laundry if the knees are giving me fits. My last house was a one level ranch and it was wonderful. It had a 'split' bedroom design, 3 at one end and one at the other end. It was actually a house that has been added on to several times. The house before that was a multi level and was a knee killer if there ever was one. I totally agree with the idea of making sure there is a bathroom and either a bedroom or a room that could be a temporary bedroom on the main floor. Another question you might ask yourself was just made ( I think by Linda) are you going to have any duties in caring for your parents? That might also influence your decision. I wish you luck in whatever you decide and hope that you are happy, wherever your journey takes you! Becky
