Cathy: You should never double or try to use a larger amount. Please always use pectin. Your recipe will be running and will not set up. Read what your recipe calls for and use just those ingredients. You say you have a recipe that calls for no pectin. I have been canning for 40 years and never seen a recipe such as yours. Please try another recipe.
