Javaneese Meal

Misc.

Hi linda I had to laugh ... sometimes we get too familar with the posts and expect all to "know" :0 sorry :) I'll post this for now and return latter if Peggy hasn't already ans. the others :)

Here is how we do a meal that was called Javanese way back don't know if it is or not another gorup I ran into called it "chicken stacky uppy"
"Javanese meal"

The idea behind this recipe is to "layer" all of the ing. together, now I tell the guest that if they can at all stand it they should try EVERYTHING on the table, even the coconut -- that is the one they all balik at.

You can make this a group effort by having everyone bring an item.
I put the Rice on the table then the "toppings" then the chicken and gravy to "top" it all.

The ingredienats:

1-2 whole Chickens boiled in stock pot of water to which some spices have been added, your choice, (mine would be: garlic, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning)
No need to over boil, remove bones, shred set aside.

Make lots of gravy from broth, add chicken back to it, it should look very chickeny. I use corn starch to thicken the broth with a litlle salt and pepper to taste.
tomatoes, chow mein noodles, pinapple, chedder cheese, green onions(chopped),coconut, SHREDED (like with a grater) lettuce, celery (chopped SMALL),

White Rice (I use long grain and not instant)

Make plenty it will go fast once the guests have gotton over the combination!
