Hello Liza,

I don't know quite what to say about your dilemna...that recipe is from the Silver Palate book and it always comes out yummy and gets raves when I serve it.

You must absolutely use fresh ingredients when preparing it. The sauce that comes out is incredible with rice.

Please do try it again as it is one of Silver Palate's best recipe for serving to a crowd.
