Recipe(tried): Tortilla Strip Crisps...just a quick recipe I have to pass along!

Appetizers and Snacks
Well, we have had another dump of snow here in the Greater Vancouver region, we can go for years without literally none! and this year, wow!

If I weren't off to Puerto Vallarta next week, I'd be annoyed!

Anyway, ya know when you just want to have something crunchy to go with your chili or soup? and there is no junky stuff in your house, either because you cleared it all out, or you are snowbound or what-have-you?

Here is a healthy solution to get you over the hump:

Take a wheat tortilla or two from the freezer. This works with any kind, any flavour. I am a whole-wheat kinda gal, so I always keeps them on hand. Or a sprouted grain one, or flax, or pesto, or whatever. They will all work for this!

Cut into wide strips and put onto a baking sheet.

Sprinkle with a wee bit of cheese. I have been using parmesan, because it is very flavourful and I have a big batch of it all grated up in my fridge. But you can use whatever you prefer, and/or have handy.

Bake at 375 for 10 minutes. No need to preheat the oven. I have been making these in the toaster oven. works perfectly for 90% of whatever I bake, works for this, too!

That's it. When the time is up, eat your yummy "chips". BTW, those sprouted grain tortillas taste like sawdust if you use them for anything else, but even they taste good to me served this way.

Cheers!

Carolyn!
