Betty, I live in Iowa also. Don't know how close you are to Des Moines, but there is a TERRIFIC oriental store there called "Jungs" located on University Ave on the East Side. They have Kombu and just about any other oriental item you might wish. I keep kombu on hand all the time, as well as other dried seaweed items. If you ever get near Des Moines, go there, you won't be disappointed. I always come home with lots of items.
