Nana, I was wondering that myself....

Misc.
On the front of the recipe it says, For smaller treats, the same recipe can be made up as tartlets. Then, on the side with the instructions it says, "Divide 1 cup finely chopped nuts into shells place on cookie sheets. Pour filling into shells, dividing evenly." So I am assuming you make the same amount of filling but use less nuts. Perhaps this is because the nuts in the tarts are finely chopped according to the instructions, and the nuts for the large tart are coarely chopped? But in the picture on the front the nuts appear to be the same size in each. Hmmm...I don't know. I do imagine it will taste great either way. Sorry I can't be of more help. I even went to the companion Cookery magazines that were sent with each shipment of pages. These magazines had even more recipes along with articles. They included notes on each recipe page. Some years ago I went through the notebook and made note on each page which Cookery magazine (they were numbered) and which page I could find their notes on the recipe. The notes about this tart are just about substituting pecans or other nuts if walnuts aren't your favorite and adding brandy or rum to the whipped cream if you like.

What I think I would do is follow the instructions, and add coarser nuts if I didn't like the looks of the first tart. (That one, of course, would have to be eaten by me! (Or covered with whipped cream so no one would see!)

Let me know if you try them...Happy Holidays!
