Nancy, answering your question about....

Misc.
why we always have pickles. My daughter and husband LOVE Claussen Pickles and want to have them every Sunday. Sunday is the day that I cook a meal like my mama always cooked. In fact, it's the only day that I have time to cook such a meal. My mother would always have homemade pickles, chow-chow, preserves, jellies, and jams that she had canned on the table for our Sunday dinner. I guess that it is just something that I have always had and I'm continuing the tradition--only I'm using jams, jellies, and pickles from the grocery store.
