Re: Blender vs. food processor for Debbie

Hi Debbie:-) I think your decision should be based on what you intend to use this machine for. If you want to make smoothies, milkshakes, frozen drinks, pureed soups, sauces etc., then a blender would be a better purchase in my opinion. (I can't say that I have ever heard of anyone making smoothies or milkshakes etc. in a food processor.) But, if you want your new machine to help you with your cooking - chopping, grating, mixing dough, then a food processor would be a better choice. They really are two different machines meant for different purposes, but admittedly, there is some overlap such as pureeing soups and vegetables. I hope this helps you some in your decision making. One additional note is that if you want to make frozen drinks, get a blender with a glass jar and make sure it will chop/crush ice before you make your purchase. Less expensive models of blenders do not do a good job when it comes to making frozen drinks.
