Have you been able to locate the recipe as of yet, let me tell you a little story, I knew someone growing up that made delicious anise frosted cutouts, it was my moms girlfriends uncle, I ate these cookies my entire life every Christmas, when I was a adult I'd buy them for every one, when I got married this gentleman and his wife, made us our wedding cake, and inside the card from them was the recipe to the anise cutouts, He had worked his entire career at Ken Paul bakery before they closed then on his own, I carried on the tradition of these cutouts, I make anise only at Christmas, the recipe stays in that card locked in a safe, it's burned into my memory the way I'm sure it was burned in his, May god rest his soul
