Re: Looking for good Potato Salard receipes

Misc.

I've been told I have a way with potatoe salad":

There are 2 different ones I make

The first is a "baked potatoe salad"

Boil your potatoes then cut into small pieces.
Salt & pepper to taste.

Then I sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese or a mixture
of jack & cheddar. Sliced green onions, bacon bits (i use
the fake ones), then I mix in a couple of large spoons of
sour cream and a couple spoons of prepared ranch dressing.

as you can see I have no exact measurements, just mix
until you get the moistness and taste you want.
It's very good and a little different.

The Other salad I make is a basic potatoe salad

I cook my potatoes then light mash them to break them
down. I salt and pepper to taste: then here's a secret
ingredient that most people don't use I add about 1 teasponn
of garlic powder (or to suit your taste; I add chopped
green onions, chopped dill pickles, chopped black olives
and mix until fairly mixed. Then I add mayonnaise (not
salad dressing!) until it's faily moist; then I mix in
some yellow mustard until I get the desired taste.

I will tell you though the garlic powder makes the
difference between a bland, blah potatoe salad
and a real great one.

I've taken this one to many pot lucks and socials
and have received many, many compliments.
