re: Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is not the recipe that I made awhile back. Mine included chopped large hershey bar, oatmeal whirled in the blender and chopped dark german chocolate - along with the semi sweet chips.

A Note from Betsy at Recipelink:

Dear Byoung,

Thanks for posting. The recipe you're referring to is the urban legend recipe that has been passed around for years claiming to be the real thing (Neiman Marcus Cookies aka Mrs. Fields Cookies recipe) the recipe I posted is the one Neiman Marcus released and put in their cookbook in response to the recipe hoax: Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies (urban myth cookies) along with their explanation. I've made the hoax cookie recipe and we really liked it so that probably explains why it continues to be passed around. Here's a good site for looking up urban legends, scams and spam: Snopes.com and here's their page about the Neiman Marcus Cookie legend

Happy Baking!

Betsy
