Hi Cheryl,
Try using fructose in place of sugar in the recipes you already have. Fructose is absorbed into the blood more gradually than sugar and is therefore recommended for diabetics also. ESTEE is a good brand and they make a 10oz. box size for baking. Use 1/3 less Fructose than you would sugar. As far as sodium is concerned, I use lemon juice and various herbs to replace the salt and it gives a good taste to foods that we are used to salting. Tomato sauce has a lot of sodium naturally so do not use too much of that for flavoring. Good luck!
