Creamy Onions

Vegetables

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
30 g butter
1/2 tsp pepper
1 onion -- finely chopped
ground nutmeg to taste
1 1/2 tbsps flour
1 1/2 c milk
1/4 tsp salt
500 g frozen pearl onions or
small white pickling onions -- peeled
paprika (optional)

Heat butter in a 4 cup glass jug, covered with a paper towel, on HIGH for
45 seconds, or until melted. Add chopped onion. Cook on HIGH for 2-3 mins.
until softened, stirring once. Stir in flour until blended. Cook on HIGH
for 3-4 mins. until sauce has thickened and is smooth, stirring twice.
Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Combine onions and sauce in a 23cm
round baking dish. Cook on HIGH for 3-5 mins. until sauce bubbles,
stirring halfway through cooking. Sprinkle, if you like with paprika.
