re: Poms
Misc.Be thankful that gentleman gave you his fruit! I grow a lot of different fruits here in Newcastle, but my poms are ones that I don't share! There's just too many good things to do with them. I marinate lamb with them, freeze them to toss into salads during the year, juice them and freeze the juice. I make a liquer that's fabulous with a splash of champagne for New years, a pom cake that's studded with cream cheese nuggets, granitas, ices, jellys, cheesecakes and so much more. The color is festive, they are so healthy and delicious. My husband often 'takes me out to breakfast' on Sunday mornings, by setting up a chair for me in the orchard and we feast off of poms, mandaran oranges and pecans...all fresh off the tree.
