Re: Sarah In The Wild Wild West!

Misc.

Gracious Salutations Sarah,
You said in your reply to my recipe posting that you were from the southside of ? Virginia? I was raised in Buckingham and Fluvanna Counties, now live in Orange Co, near Charlottsville. I have relations in the southern part of the state "Dinwiddie Co."
Your online candor and sophisticated southern lingo could only mean you are really one of us... A true southerner talks just as you do, and there is no school that can teach it, it is taught by years of association with those old folks that we all grew up with and loved and well, you know exactly what I am talking about. Gracious educated people, who were a part of a time and life that is now just part of the past. I post these recipes (which are but so much), but I try to tell them in a way that is entertaining, and, just as my family would have wanted, a simple statement of "What was" in the old days of Virginia.
Please, feel free to email me at DvdnVa40@aol.com I love to share the past of what was, I post my recipes with little stories, and in a language just as I learned them. Those of the old days were not the most educated people "Book wise", but wow, they have an education of life that was amazing, and a zest for life that I only wish our youth today could have.
Peace to you.
David In Virginia
