re: Vita Mix

Misc.
Susan - I have a much older Vita Mix - I think its 3900 or some such # .. I've had it for a good 12 - 16 years. So probably the cookbooks are different now. Mine called for 'tempering' (if you wanted more 'hard' ice cream - to put it in a pan in freezer - and stir occasionally, etc.
The book I have is a big one - maybe 8-1/2 x 11 spiral type - and there must be 4 pages of instructions before they get to the recipes for various ice creams, sorbets, etc.

I am wondering if you can get some of this info by calling the Vita Mix 800 # - or checking their site on line?

If not, let me know exactly what you want and I'll try to get it to you. But I hate to type 4 or 5 pages! I don't have a scanner.

I use my Vita Mix a lot --- soups in winter. In the summer I make a lot of 'healthy' smoothies. IIf we have a good garden - I often use it in making sauce (tomato) to freeze and stuff like that. I use it for dips, spreads, and similar things. The gazpacho soup we make in the summer is great. And so on.

Enjoy yours .. and keep trying new ideas.
