I think even the Pergo people have admitted there was a problem with the noise factor since their installation video shows Whisperwalk as a part of the installation process (they also mention what must have been the original base something called foam sheet)

Thanks again for all the information - it really is helping us make up our minds - I went back into the Archives and entered "pergo and flooring" and got an amazing amount of responses about flooring in general and Pergo specifically so thanks to TKL we've just about decided AGAINST Pergo - (Betsy - hope this isn't one of your sponsors!) Now we're back to tile again!!

And we are definitely going to do at least the floors prior to moving - I believe it will be worth the investment, as well as making me a happier camper! for the next 18 months.

Re: the noise factor - does it help to have throw rugs around that cut down on the hollow effect??
