Rice Cooker

Misc.

Christine, I am glad to see your post -- I have a question. I bought a rice
cooker about 3 weeks ago. The directions said 1 cup of rice to 1 cup of water.
The rice was horrible----sticky, gummy, doughy mess. So I tried again with 1
cup of rice and 2 cups of water. This time it was not quite as bad but still
too sticky and gummy. What am I doing wrong? I used a cheap, store brand of
long grain rice. Could that be it? Our family really likes the texture and
fluffiness of instant rice but it is expensive. Any help would be appreciated.
