Sitron fromage

Misc.

Fromage is a dessert made from whipped eggyolks with sugar and tastful ingredient - like lemon peel+lemon jucice, or melted chocolate, or burned almonds/sugar, or crushed berries. It is mixed with melted gelatin, folded in stiff whipped egg whites and whipped cream. In Norway we don't have salmonella in eggs, so raw eggs are okay.

If you want to experiment or do it the fast way, this is how I cheat: I dissolve a package of Jello , say lemon, in a little less water (20% less) than is prescribed, add some more taste - like grated lemonpeel and fresh lemon juice. Then I cool it. I whip a cup of whipping cream with two spoons of sugar until almost stiff (soft peaks). When the Jello is almost set - the consistency of thick oil or shampoo - I quickly fold it into the cream and let it stay cold until it resembles cream cheese. (May be served with thin cookies or flan)

If I use Jello with berry-taste, I add a cup or so of crushed frozen or fresh berries.(Makes a little amount of strawberries go a long way)

If you want it a little "heavier", you can use cream-cheese, stir it smooth first and mix it into the whipped cream.
