Sweet Peaches

Misc.
Hey all,

I am a peach lover and want to know if anyone can tell me some sure
fire ways of ripening peaches so that they come sweet. I can't stand
buying peaches from the grocery store semi-firm, leaving them in a bowl
on the counter to ripen...only to have them become soft with little
to no taste to them.

Is it the peaches I'm buying? Is there a better way to ripen them?
Should buy them softer/harder?

Please help. I'm tired of wasting money and food and ending up terribly
disappointed.

Thanks
