Thickened Sour kraut

This recipe is from my aunt.
Thickened Sour Kraut:
Saute 1/4-1/2 c. Chopped onions in 2-Tbsp oil or bacon drippings. Thicken this with 2-Tbsp flour. Will be stiff. Add 1 can slightly drained Kraut, and add 2-Tbsp sugar. Stir and cook till desired consistency and till flour is cooked. Add water as it cooks, up to about 1 c. or so.
