Welcome home Miss Gina!
Misc.Glad you are safe and sound after all that gallivanting!
Oh my friend, I have so enjoyed reading all your commentary about your new house and its locale. I am very pleased for you, it sounds just wonderful! And that ding-dong cake; doesn't the name make you smile? It does look wonderful!
I have not been cooking very much inspiring food lately; it is the time of the year to be tending my garden and enjoying the great outdoors. Today is the third day (off) of a long weekend here in Canada (Canada Day is July 01; because it fell on a Saturday, today is a day off in lieu), and I commented to Luis that a 3 day weekend is so civilised! It oughta be the law, so we could have one every week! Alas, the next one is not until August.
Your 4th of July menu looks fantastic, you hostess with the mostest! I hope you have a grand time, I will be thinking of you (while I slog out another day at work, boo-hoo!).
I am going to post one of my tried-and-trues. When you have time to slot it in, please promise me you will try the salad that goes with it (cucumber). The chicken is good, but the salad is really something. When I have it "going on", I use my food pro to slice the cucumber very thinly.
Again, welcome home and have a wonderful 4th of July.
Your friend,
Carolyn!
