Well, I can just see you in your apron, Ms. Washerwoman!

Misc.
Yesterday I did a lot of cooking and laundry and it was awfully hot. Today is much cooler; if only they could predict the weather in this neck of the woods with a little more precision!

My older son, the one with the blueberry career, is home for a couple of days. He's kind of run down; at any rate, the blueberry farms owners said they want to let the plants be for a couple of days, and then do the final pick. So the season is coming to an end.

My blueberry stash has had a lot of what we call "mummy" berries, where they shrivel as they ripen, and fall off. I don't know what causes it, but, as they are actually my neighbour's bushes, I won't intervene. So, I am lucky to have a "blueberry connection" this year, because the farm owners have invited me to pick a stash for my freezer. The final pick produces the sweetest berries, although the pickings are a bit thinner than earlier in the season. I feel very lucky! Blueberries are so lovely to have on hand...I will be freezing 20 pounds or so!

I am going to try drying them again, as well. It was not a success the first time, so I have armed myself with some more info...onward and upward, hopefully.

Wish me luck, and have a lovely day yourself, Gina!

Carolyn!

p.s. yes, Law and Order is quite compelling, I agree! One of the former cast members lives here in my town...Michael Moriarity. He's quite a character, I hear.
