Recipe(tried): Oatmeal Shortbread Cookies - I would like to try & help you.

Good afternoon. Brenda, here a recipe I have not tried.

OATMEAL SHORTBREAD COOKIES

2 cups rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt (maximum)
1 cup butter (2 sticks), room temperature
3/4 cup brown sugar

Mix and blend oats, flour, and salt very well.

Cream butter and brown sugar together on a very slow speed till blended, approximately 3 minutes. We do not ever want to beat air in shortbread cookies.

Stir in flour mixture in 4 segments last 2 by hand till mixed. Use fingers rather than your palms because that is where the heat of your hand is. We do not want to heat up this concoction Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Then roll-out to 1/4-inch thick and employ your cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees. NOW PLACE COOKIE TRAY IN OVEN.

Bake approx 25-30 minutes.
