Easy Peach Cobbler

1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
vanilla -- optional

Pour batter over 1 stick melted butter in prepared casserole. Pour 1-2 large cans of drained peaches over batter. I drizzle a little peach juice over the peaches to make it just a little syrupy! Bake in 375 oven until done and lightly browned. 30-45 minutes.
