Recipe: Almond Bars (using almond paste)

ALMOND BARS

"If you like Dutch letters, you will enjoy these. Great for holidays or any time."

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar (plus additional for topping)
2 sticks (1 cup) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup almond paste
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
slivered almonds (for topping)

Mix all ingredients, except slivered almonds, together. Put into a greased 13x9-inch baking pan and sprinkle heavily with sugar and slivered almonds.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 20-25 minutes.
