Here are 2 recipes, one is Greek and one is not. I'm not sure either one is what you want, but I hope they help.
Sweet Butter Cookies/Kourambiethes (makes 7 dozen small crescents)
1# unsalted butter
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
2/3 cup blanched almonds (chopped fine)
1 1/2 oz brandy
1/3 cup orange juice
1 tsp baking powder
4 1/2-5 cups flour
1# confectioner's sugar
Cream butter until very light in color (about 20 min.). Beat in sugar, egg yolks, almonds, brandy, and orange juice. Sift baking powder with flour and carefully blend into butter mixture. Mix with hands. Dough should be pliable. Shape into small crescents and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 about 15-20 minutes until lightly golden. Sift confectioners sugar on a large sheet of wax paper. With spatula, place cookies on paper and sift additional confectioner's sugar over tops and sides. Cool thoroughly before storing.
Rainbow Cookies
1 cup butter
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
2 tsp almond or vanilla flavoring
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup oats
colored sugar frosting (I would think you could substitute confectioner's sugar for the frosting)
Cream butter and sugar. Add flavoring and flour. Stir in oats. Shape into logs. Bake 20-25 minutes at 325. Decorate with colored frosting (or coat with confectioner's sugar).
