I decided to make brownies for my boys yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised to find this cookie recipe on the side of the box. I've not tried it yet, but it looks delicious.
EASY CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
FOR THE COOKIES:
1 box Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate Brownies
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 of an 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 egg
FOR THE PEANUT BUTTER FILLING:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup peanut butter
FOR FROSTING DRIZZLE:
Duncan Hines Milk Chocolate Frosting or Classic Chocolate Frosting (ready-to-spread)
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
In medium bowl, beat (dry) brownie mix, with melted butter, cream cheese and egg, by hand until well blended.
Roll dough into balls and place on and ungreased cookie sheet about 2-inches apart. Should make about 24 balls. Set aside.
In small bowl mix powdered sugar and peanut butter together and roll into 24 balls. Press Peanut butter balls into surface of uncooked brownie cookies and slightly flatten cookie.
Bake for 10 to 14 minutes or until edges are set. Cool completely on cookie sheets. Transfer to wire rack (for easy clean up place wax paper or parchment paper under wire rack).
Place 6 tablespoons of frosting into a microwave safe container and melt for 30 seconds, drizzle melted chocolate over top of cookies. Cool.
Makes about 2 dozen
