Recipe: Apple-Cranberry Crumble (with rum) (serves 2)

APPLE-CRANBERRY CRUMBLE

1 medium apple, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen (no need to thaw If frozen)
1/4 cup dark rum
6 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Toss apple slices and cranberries with rum in 1-quart casserole.

Mix brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg using 2 knives or a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apple-cranberry mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes, stirring once, halfway through baking time.

Serve hot.

Makes 8 to 10 servings
