Recipe(tried): Apple Raisin Crisp
Misc. Here is a great one that is from a cookbook called, "Secrets of Fat Free Baking". It isn't too sweet either.
Apple Raisin Crisp- makes 6 servings
5 c thinly sliced peeled fresh apples
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
1/3 c raisins
3 tbsp frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
Topping:
3 tbsp toasted wheat germ
1/2 c quick cooking oats
3 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
Toss apple slices with the cornstarch. Add raisins and juice conc and toss to mix. Place mixture in 9 inch deep dish pie pan.
For topping, combine topping ingredients and mix until moist and crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit.
Bake uncovered in a 375F oven for 25 minutes. Cover the dish loosly with foil to prevent overbrowning and continue baking for 15-20 minutes or until filling and topping are golden brown. Serve warm.
