Hi Barb!
Here is a great simple recipe to use up some of those bread crumbs.
Good Luck!
Apple Strudel
1 sheet puff pastry
6 apples - peeled and sliced
1 cup raisins
1 cup bread crumbs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 lemon -- zest of
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup butter
Directions: Roll out dough and sprinkle half the bread crumbs over half the sheet. Make sure to leave a 2 inch border of dough on the sides. Arrange apple slices over crumbs and sprinkle on the almonds. Add small slices of butter on top. Mix sugar, cinnamon and zest together and sprinkle over apples. Cover with the remaining bread crumbs. Roll the dough into a jelly roll and tuck the flaps under. Bend the roll into a horseshoe shape and transfer to a parchment covered baking sheet. Melt the rest of the butter and brush roll. Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes.
