Recipe: Baked Beans (using apples and pumpkin pie spice)

Baked Beans (using apples and pumpkin pie spice)

In 1 tbsp lard or rendered salt pork saute:
1 med. to large chopped onion
1 peeled, cored chopped apple

When the onions are tender add:
2 cans (15 to 16oz each) pork & beans
1 small (8 oz) can tomato sauce (Hunts, DelMonte)
Brown sugar to taste
1 or 2 pinches of Pumpkin Pie Spice

Mix well and put into casserole and top with more chopped onion (raw).

Bake at 350 till onions on top start to brown.
