Hello! This recipe I found in my old files isn't exactly the one you requested but I thought I'd share it in case it's a variation of the one you're looking for.
BAKED CORNED BEEF
1 (3 lb.) corned beef brisket
oil (for browning)
3/4 cup water
3 tbsp. ketchup
2 tbsp. A-1 steak sauce
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. minced onion
1 tsp. instant coffee
Brown beef in oil on all sides in a Dutch oven, then pour 3/4 cup water into the pot.
Mix remaining ingredients together into a paste. Cover meat with this mixture.
Cover the pot tightly and cook in a 300 degree F oven for 3 hours. Baste occasionally.
Here are the differences between the 2 sauces:
A-1 Steak Sauce Ingredients:
tomato puree (water, tomato paste), vinegar, corn syrup, salt, raisin paste, crushed orange puree, spices (contains celery), dried garlic, caramel color, dried onions, potassium sorbate (to preserve freshness), xanthan gum.
Heinz 57 Sauce Ingredients:
tomato puree (water, tomato paste), high fructose corn syrup, distilled white vinegar, malt vinegar, salt, contains less than 2% of the following: modified food starch, raisin juice concentrate, mustard flour, soybean oil, turmeric, spices, apple puree, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservatives), caramel color, garlic powder, onion powder, natural flavors.
I'll be on the lookout for the Heinz 57 recipe. - Betsy
