Recipe: Blender Barbecue Sauce (Mary Dunbar recipe, 1940's)

BARBECUE SAUCE

"Use to baste meat or chicken that is being roasted."

1 medium onion, quartered
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup chili sauce (like Heinz)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 garlic clove, halved
1 small thin piece of lemon peel
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 drops Tabasco sauce

Saute onion in butter. Then put in blender container and add remaining ingredients. Run on BLEND until onion is finery chopped.

Yield: 1 1/4 cups
